10/13/10-10/14/10:Geneva, Switzerland

We arrived in Geneva, Switzerland at about 4:00 and met some one of grandpa's friends there. Craig Russon, his wife Karen., and their son Vince. Vince was just in from the States also, so we had fun exploring the differences  between the two countries. We were pretty good friends by the time we had to leave, and its kinda sad that we probably wont ever see him again.

From the train station we took a bus to the place we would be staying, and Craig played the role as our tour guide. We saw the Red Cross Foundation headquarters, and the UN headquarters from the bus. Oh, and
to get to where we were spending the night, we actually crossed the border of Switzerland into France. So technically we were in France for the night.

We were going to stay the night at Crag's house, but his family had a cold, and not wanting to expose us they booked us two rooms at a hotel a stone's throw away from their house. It was very nice..they even payed
for both of our rooms for the night. The hotel was very, very old, being built about two hundred years ago. It had a few characteristics of an  ancient building, but it was certainly beautiful and a neat experience.

Once we had dropped our luggage off at the hotel, we got on a bus with Craig, Karen, and Vince to go to a fondue dinner at a restaurant that is rumored to have the best fondue around. Again we crossed the border
because the restaurant is in Switzerland. It was amazing I must say. For those of you, if any, who don't know what fondue is, it is bread that you dip in a large pot of melted cheese. A great food for a large party
of people. I really, really enjoyed the dinner, and getting to visit with Vince.

When our dinner was over, we attempted to catch a bus that would take us close to where our hotel was. The first bus we got on we had to run for to catch....and then discovered it took us the complete wrong way. So, we had to get off that bus, and wait for one that would take us the correct direction. In the end, we ended up riding on perhaps four buses before we found the one we needed. It was quite an adventure, haha.

In the morning we had to get up at six thirty, because the Russon's had kindly invited us to breakfast a quarter till' seven at their house. They served us fresh yogurt and granola, fresh croissant and chocolate bread from the bakery, orange juice, and some amazing coffee. It was delicious and definitely worth getting up early for. :) The Russons were extremely hospitable and by the end of our stay, they almost felt like family.

After our amazing breakfast, we got on a bus (the correct one this time) to take us back to the train station, although I don't think Steve and I were quite ready to leave. Well anyways, when we got to the station we discovered the train we were supposed to board that would take us to Lyon, had been canceled. So, we had to get on a different train that would just take us straight to Paris.

At 9:00 we exchanged info for finding each other on Facebook, and said our goodbyes to Craig, Karen, and Vince.
